1960s Tapestry Vintage Pillbox Hat – Cats Like Us。Gorgeous tapestry upholstery pillbox hat custom made for me years ago. The fabric was an Anne Pinkerton suit fabric that I stumbled on (I owned the suit.) Completely finished inside with partially lined body, it has a ruched piped edge on the crown, 3 huge self-fabric flowers on the front and has a 1” folded brim. There is a space in the inside of the back of the hat where the designer opened it up and added 3 inches of elastic to tighten it up so it could be slightly altered further. She said it was very hard fabric to work with. However, as I’ve said many times, I have a big head so this is indeed a large. It does cover most of the ear so it is warm. Measurements: Inside of the rim = 23-1/2” Interior height = 5” Exterior height = 6” Model in the collage has a regular adult-sized head. You can see it’s big for her but still looks great with a nice bob haircut. I, on the other hand, am in the other photos so the scale is totally different. My opinion is that it needs a head with longer hair. I probably wore it 3 times. The hat maker designed hats on the side. She was otherwise a chemist, got her PhD and went on to do research. Price is firm and it will come with the hatbox. It’s an old friend and I don’t need to sell it.
